Starting with the first-choice option for Gujarat Titans, the team will undoubtedly have Shubman Gill as their first-choice and highest-paid player for IPL 2025. Gill, who started his career with KKR was retained by Gujrat Titans when they made their debut in 2022. Since then, Gill’s status has only grown leaps and bounds. Given his excellency in the tournament, there will be no debate on for Shubman Gill to get retained as their best player for IPL 2025.
For the second slot, look no other than the legend of the game, Rashid Khan. Rashid Khan, at the age of 26 is already a superstar of the game with unmatched performance. Rashid made his IPL debut in 2017 at the age of 18. Right from the start, Rashid has been impressive, and currently with 149 wickets from just 121 matches, he is one of the leading wicket-taking spinners in the competition. So, expect Rashid to be the second name on the list, but at what price will be the question?
For the third option, Gujarat Titans will go after the tried and tested pace bowler, Mohammed Shami. Shami, who missed the 2024 leg due to injury is currently in a rehab program at the NCA. Shami alongside Jasprit Bumrah are the two best pacers in India currently, so it goes without a debate that whichever side he plays for, he should get retained. Hopefully, Shami doesn’t lose out on his pace or accuracy due injury, and is able to make a strong comeback.
Sai Sudharsan vs Rahul Tewatia / David Miller
Finally, for the fourth player, Gujarat Titans will face a dilemma whether to select a proven player like Rahul Tewatia, a solid finisher like David Miller, or a solid young player like Sai Sudharsan. If six players were allowed, all three should be in without a doubt. But if only four players are allowed, Gujarat Titans should go after a player whom they can invest in, in the long run. So, between the three, Sai Sudharsan seems the best player. He has also proven himself with over 500 runs in the IPL 2024 season.
