Every day we get to hear some interesting rumours on the players that are going to be released, and the ones that are going to be retained. While the official announcement is just a couple of days away, it is always fascinating to hear the news about our favorite players getting retained, and at what price.
While T20 as such is a batting-dominant game, bowlers have also come of age by bringing some unique skills to baffle the batters. What’s more, quality bowlers are always in demand as those are the ones that will either help you get wickets, or contain the flow of runs. So, in this article, we take a look at 12 such bowlers, who will be retained by all 10 teams ahead of the IPL 2025 Mega Auction.

#1: Gujarat Titans
- Rashid Khan – 16 Cr
- Mohammed Shami 11 Cr
- Mohit Sharma – 4 Cr
Starting with Gujarat Titans this time, this is the team that will retain the most number of pure bowlers for IPL 2025. The team will retain Rashid Khan and Mohammed Shami for 16 Cr and 11 Cr respectively, and aside from these two, the team will retain Mohit Sharma as the uncapped player for 4 Cr.
#2: Lucknow Super Giants
- Mayank Yadav – 14 Cr
- Ravi Bishnoi – 11 Cr
After Gujarat Titans, we are looking at Lucknow Super Giants, who retain two pure bowlers for IPL 2025. Given the rise of Mayank Yadav, the pace sensation, the team won’t mind spending 14 Cr on him. Also, Bishnoi’s bowling has risen over the ranks in the last 1-2 years. So, 11 Cr is a reasonable demand from Ravi Bishnoi from a retention point of view.
#3: Chennai Super Kings
- Matheesha Pathirana – 11 Cr
At Number 3, we are talking about Chennai Super Kings, who will retain mostly retain Matheesha Pathirana for 11 Cr. Pathirana is the leading pacer, not just for CSK, but also for the Sri Lankan team. He has done pretty well for CSK, and they won’t mind spending 11 Cr tor retain him.
#4: Delhi Capitals
- Kuldeep Yadav – 11 Cr
Talking about Delhi Capitals, the team will retain Kuldeep Yadav as their pure bowler for 11 Cr. While 11 Cr isn’t a big amount to retain Kuldeep, there could be a possibility of Kuldeep not getting retained, and instead DC using an RTM card on him. Whatever the case, he is coming back to Delhi Capitals for sure.
#5: Kolkata Knight Riders
- Harshit Rana – 4 Cr
Talking about Kolkata Knight Riders, the team will surely retain Harshit Rana. Seeing all the drama surrounding the debut of Harshit, everything is finally clear that he will remain an uncapped player, and KKR will retain him for 4 Cr. In addition, KKR will mostly use the RTM card on Varun Chakravarthy, If he is not retained.
#6: Mumbai Indians
- Jasprit Bumrah – 18 Cr
Coming to Mumbai Indians, the team is filled with quality Indian players, but when it comes to the pure bowlers that they will retain, Jasprit Bumrah shall be the first name on the table. While retaining Bumrah was never out of question, at what price they retain him will be the key. Most likely, Bumrah should get either 18 Cr or 14 Cr with the former having the highest probability.
#7: Rajasthan Royals
- Sandeep Sharma – 4 Cr
Talking about Rajasthan Royals, the team has three quality bowlers that they can think to retain, and those are uncapped Sandeep Sharma, Trent Boult, and Yuzvendra Chahal. However, given the Auction price dynamics, RR will only retain Sandeep Sharma for 4 Cr, and the plan is to use RTM cards on Yuzvendra Chahal and Trent Boult.
#8: Royal Challengers Bengaluru
- Yash Dayal – 4 Cr
Talking about RCB, the team that is filled with quality batters will mostly retain Yash Dayal as the pure for 4 Cr, and then use the RTM card on Mohammed Siraj. Yash Dayal was impressive for RCB last season, and over the last year, he has also found a place in the India A and senior Indian team.
#9: Sunrisers Hyderabad
- Pat Cummins – 18 Cr
For Sunrisers Hyderabad, Captain Pat Cummins remains as their star bowler and played, who will be retained without any second thought for 18 Cr. While SRH are in line to retain all 6 players, the RTM option won’t be applicable for them, the team will still target the likes of T Natarajan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Umran Malik in the Auction.
#10: Punjab Kings
- None
Finally, Talking about Punjab Kings, the team won’t retain any pure bowler, and instead will use RTM cards on Arshdeep Singh and Kagiso Raba from the pure bowlers’ perspective.
