IPL 2025 Retained Foreign Players List and Purse Details for All 10 Teams

Chennai Super Kings (CSK)

  1. Matheesha Pathirana – 13 Cr

Purse Left: 55 Cr // RTM Cards Left: 1

Chennai Super Kings retained only one foreign player for IPL 2025, and that’s Matheesha Pathirana. Pathirana has been one of the best emerging T20 bowlers in the world currently, and also a star performer for CSK. In the 20 IPL matches so far, Pathirana already has 34 wickets at an impressive average of 17.41. Aside from Pathirana, CSK will be eyeing Rachin Ravindra or Devon Conway in the auction via RTM card.

Delhi Capitals (DC)

  1. Tristan Stubbs – 10 Cr

Purse Left: 73 Cr // RTM Cards Left: 2

Delhi Capitals trusted Tristan Stubbs, and retained him as the foreign player above the likes of Jake Fraser-McGurk or Mitchell Marsh. Stubbs has been a solid finisher for Delhi Capitals, and he scored a solid 378 runs in the 2024 season at a strike rate of 191. With Stubbs as the foreign player, Delhi will be eyeing both Jake Fraser-McGurk and Mitchell Marsh at the auction via RTM card.

Gujarat Titans (GT)

  1. Rashid Khan – 18 Cr

Purse Left: 69 Cr // RTM Cards Left: 1

Gujarat Titans retained the world’s best spinner, Rashid Khan as the only foreign player in the squad for IPL 2025. Rashid’s record speaks for itself, and there should not be an iota of doubt about him getting 18 Cr. While Rashid has been retained, GT have one RTM spot left, and they can use that on David Miller.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)

  1. Andre Russell – 12 Cr
  2. Sunil Narine – 12 Cr

Purse Left: 51 Cr // RTM Cards Left: 0

KKR retained their core match-winning duo of Andre Russell and Sunil Narine among foreign players for IPL 2025. Both Narine and Russell seem to be eternal part of the KKR team, and has also been trusted by the management. With Russell and Narine as the retained foreign players for KKR, the team doesn’t have any RTM cards left, so will have to buy the likes of Phil Salt or Mitchell Starc in the Auction directly.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)

  1. Nicholas Pooran – 21 Cr

Purse Left: 69 Cr // RTM Cards Left: 1

Lucknow Super Giants retained their star and attacking batter, Nicholas Pooran among foreign players for IPL 2025. Pooran has been a star performer at the IPL having scored 1769 runs at a solid strike rate of 162.3. He is among only a few players to have a strike rate of 160+, and also scoring 1500+ runs. With Pooran as the retained foreign player, LSG can use the RTM card on either Quinton de Kock or Marcus Stoinis in the Auction.

Mumbai Indians (MI)

  1. None

Purse Left: 45 Cr // RTM Cards Left: 1 Uncapped

Mumbai Indians didn’t retain any foreign players for IPL 2025, but will be targeting the likes of Tim David, Dewald Brevis, Nuwan Thushara, and Jofra Archer as priority in the Auction.

Punjab Kings (PBKS)

  1. None

Purse Left: 110.5 Cr // RTM Cards Left: 4

Punjab Kings didn’t retain any foreign player for IPL 2025, but will be eying the likes of Liam Livingstone, Sam Curran, Kagiso Rabada, and Jonny Bairstow via RTM card in the Auction.

Rajasthan Royals (RR)

  1. Shimron Hetmyer – 11 Cr

Purse Left: 41 Cr // RTM Cards Left: 0

Rajasthan Royals shocked everyone when they announced retaining Shimron Hetmyer as their foreign player above Jos Buttler for IPL 2025. Buttler has been a match-star player for RR, and has scored runs for them in bulk, and it’s unfortunate he is left out. While Rajasthan Royals trusted Hetmyer as their foreign player, they don’t have any RTM cards left, so will have to buy the likes of Jos Buttler or Trent Boult via a bidding war.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)

  1. None

Purse Left: 83 Cr // RTM Cards Left: 3

Royal Challengers Bengaluru had many quality foreign players in their squad, but they decided to retain none. However, with three RTM cards left, RCB can buy the likes of Glenn Maxwell, Faf du Plessis, Cameron Green, or Will Jacks via RTM card in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)

  1. Heinrich Klaasen – 23 Cr
  2. Pat Cummins – 18 Cr
  3. Travis Head – 14 Cr

Purse Left: 45 Cr // RTM Cards Left: 1 Uncapped

Finally, talking about Sunrisers Hyderabad, the team retained the maximum number of foreign players, 3. SRH is the only team to remain a foreign-player-centric team, and by retaining three players, they have shown how important foreign players are to them. What’s more, SRH retained Heinrich Klaasen for 23 Cr, thus making him the costliest refined player ahead of the Auction.

So, that’s about the complete retained Foreign players list for all 10 teams for IPL 2025.
