Ruturaj Gaikwad to lead yet another season in our official squad and players list for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for IPL 2025. 

Another Auction, and another successful attempt at building a strong squad by Chennai Super Kings were completed. It feels surreal how CSK are always able to build a strong squad at the Auction, and that too by adding most of their existing players, or new players as value buys. We should also see Chennai Super Kings as of of the only two teams to have a full-strength 25-member squad for IPL 2025.

Having not invested in Rishabh Pant or KL Rahul, the team will once again be led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, who has successfully taken over the reins from MS Dhoni. But lucky for Ruturaj, in his grooming days as Captain, he has MS Dhoni by his side to guide him in all possible ways. Alongside Ruturaj Gaikwad, the team will see many existing players like Jadeja, Dube, Conway, Rachin, Pathirana, etc.

In addition to existing players, CSK added some really solid new players, such as Sam Curran, Rahul Tripathi, Deepak Hooda, Noor Ahmad, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Nathan Ellis. Having retained five players ahead of the Auction, Chennai Super Kings added 20 more players to their squad including an RTM card usage. Overall, CSK have 7 Overseas players in their squad, and they have only 4 pure batters, 3 wicket-keepers, 10 all-rounders, and 8 bowlers. Among bowlers, CSK have 6 proper pacers, and 2 proper spinners. Whereas from all-rounders, CSK have 6 pace all-rounders, and 4 spin all-rounders

Talking about the existing players that CSK added, we are looking at a total of 9 names. Aside from retaining Ruturaj Gaikwad, MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Shivam Dube, and Matheesha Pathirana, CSK added Devon Conway as RTM for 6.25 Cr, Rachin Ravindra for 4 Cr, Mukesh Choudhary for 0.3 Cr, and Shaik Rasheed for 0.3 Cr. So, overall from last year’s squad of 25, CSK added only 9 players in total, which isn’t bad.

Talking about the quality new players that CSK added, the team added many quality players like Rahul Tripathi, Sam Curran, Deepak Hooda, Ravichandran Ashwin, Noor Ahmad, Jamie Overton, Vijay Shankar, Khaleel Ahmed, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Nathan Ellis, and Anshul Kamboj.
