IPL 2025 Highest Paid Players 11 Involving All Teams

Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer, the standouts in our highest paid players playing 11 involving all 10 teams for IPL 2025.

27 Cr!! Yes, that’s the amount of salary a player playing in the Indian Premier League will be getting. It’s a huge amount, and a big step up since the inception of the tournament back in 2008 when MS Dhoni was sold for roughly 1 million dollars. The latest edition of the Indian Premier League, the IPL 2025 Auction broke numerous records in terms of salaries a player will be getting as a part of compensation.

Each team was given a purse of 120 Cr, in which they had to buy a minimum of 18 players, and a maximum of 25 players including 8 Overseas players. Given such a big purse, it was natural for teams to spend big on a few players. While LSG spent the most on a particular player at 27 Cr for Rishabh Pant, Delhi Capitals spent the least at 16.5 Cr for Axar Patel. Overall, LSG are the only team that has spent more than 20 Cr on two players.

Having said that, it would be interesting to see what the highest-paid players playing 11 would look like. To find the highest-paid players 11, we would look at two expensive openers, three middle-order batters, two all-rounders, and four bowlers. With such categorization, it would be easier for us to find players across each category, else ideally teams spend more on batters and all-rounders, and less on bowlers. So, having understood the methodology, let’s look at the highest-paid players 11 for IPL 2025.

IPL 2025 Highest Paid Players Explained

Starting with the two most expensive openers at the Auction, we have Virat Kohli with a salary of 21 Cr from RCB, and Venkatesh Iyer as the second most expensive opener with a salary of 23.75 Cr from KKR. It might surprise a few people to see Venkatesh getting more salary than Kohli, but that’s purely because Venkatesh entered the Auction, which works on demand-supply dynamics, and Kohli was retained at a defined salary.

Coming to the middle-order, we are talking about three solid batters, two of which are representing the Lucknow Super Giants. We start with Shreyas Iyer at the number 3 position, who was purchased by Punjab Kings for a record 26.75 Cr. It was a solid bidding war between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings to hire Shreyas as their leader, and Punjab Kings were finally successful in getting Iyer for a solid 26.75 Cr.

While Shreyas Iyer held the record for being the most expensive player in IPL history for only a few minutes, Rishabh Pant broke this record as Lucknow Super Giants bid 27 Cr to get the services of Pant. Roughly 21 Cr was the bid by LSG to get Pant, which came as an RTM request by Delhi Capitals. But after sharing 27 Cr as the final bid amount, Delhi Capitals didn’t say yes, and Pant then went to LSG for a record 27 Cr. Aside from these two, we have Nicholas Pooran at the number 5 position, and he will get 21 Cr as compensation from LSG.

Finishers and Bowlers?

Talking about the most expensive finishers, we have Heinrich Klaasen from SRH at 23 Cr, and Ravindra Jadeja from CSK at 18 Cr. Both players were retainers by their respective franchises, and it goes without saying they bring a lot of value to the table. Klaasen is undoubtedly the best finisher in the world currently, and Jadeja is one of the best all-rounders going around in the Indian Premier League

Finally, talking about the most expensive bowlers alongside impact player, we have 5 names, and coincidently, all will get a salary of 18 CR. That’s actually some big coincidence considering their utility. So, the five highest-paid bowlers are Rashid Khan from Gujarat Titans, Pat Cummins from SRH, Arshdeep Singh from Punjab Kings, Jasprit Bumrah from MI, and Yuzvendra Chahal from Punjab Kings.
