IPL 2025 Presenting All 10 Teams Best Possible Playing 11

Chennai Super Kings look the strongest on paper in our best possible playing 11 for all 10 teams for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

There was a time when the game of cricket was played with only 11 players. It was a proper game of cricket with each team fielding 11 players. But the game has evolved so much that the most powerful Cricket board in the world, BCCI introduced the Impact substitute rule. The rule now allows teams to play an extra batter or a bowler depending on the match situation; thus giving a total of 12 players to officiate in a match.

The Impact player has changed the dynamics of the game with teams now discussing playing 12 players instead of playing 11 players. With all its dynamism, the rule has brought one big positive change, and that is the competitiveness in each team with respect to their overall combination. With teams getting a big advantage of fielding an extra player, it gives them a batting depth or bowling depth, thus making them less reliable on batting all-rounders, and relying more on specialists.

Competitiveness is more useful for the success of the tournament than the game. Thus, IPL becomes a platform where almost all teams get a level playing field, and that brings out more competitiveness in the competition. So, with that in mind, let’s explore the official squad and players list for all 10 teams, and find out the best possible playing 11 for each team for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

IPL 2025 Best Possible Playing 11 for Chennai Super Kings (CSK)

Ruturaj Gaikwad (c), Devon Conway, Rahul Tripathi, Deepak Hooda, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni (wk), Sam Curran, Ravichandran Ashwin, Matheesha Pathirana & Noor Ahmad.

Best Impact Player: Khaleel Ahmed

Chennai Super Kings will see a strong experienced playing 11 in their lineup. Led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, CSK have solid batting till number 9, Ravichandran Ashwin. They have a good powerplay bowler in the form of Khaleel Ahmed and Sam Curran, and a good death-over bowler in the form of Matheesha Pathiran. Spin is CSK’s strength, and for that, they have 3 quality spinners in the form of Noor Ahmad, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ravichandran Ashwin.

IPL 2025 Best Possible Playing 11 for Delhi Capitals (DC)

KL Rahul, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Abhishek Porel (wk), Harry Brook, Tristan Stubbs, Axar Patel, Ashutosh Sharma,  Mitchell Starc, Kuldeep Yadav, T Natarajan & Mukesh Kumar.

Best Impact Player: Mohit Sharma

Delhi Capitals are yet to announce their Captain for IPL 2025. But by the looks of the latest update, it seems management might prefer Axar Patel above KL Rahul. Overall, Delhi will be relying on their bowling, and they have a solid 5-6 experienced bowlers in their side. While bowling is good, the Overseas batters in the DC side aren’t the most dependable batters. It will all boil down to DC’s ability to perform under pressure if they have to make inroads in the competition.

IPL 2025 Best Possible Playing 11 for Gujarat Titans (GT)

Shubman Gill (c), Jos Buttler (wk), Sai Sudharsan, Shahrukh Khan, Sherfane Rutherford, Rahul Tewatia, Mahipal Lomror, Washington Sundar, Rashid Khan, Kagiso Rabada & Mohammed Siraj.

Best Impact Player: Prasidh Krishna

Gujarat Titans under the leadership of Shubman Gill be heavily relying on select 4-5 players for a smooth run in the competition. The team will depend on the individual success of Shubman Gill, Rashid Khan, Jos Buttler, and Sai Sudharsan for them to have a successful competition. Aside from these four, none of the players are reliable, and that can be a big issue for the team.

IPL 2025 Best Possible Playing 11 for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)

Quinton de Kock (wk), Sunil Narine, Ajinkya Rahane, Venkatesh Iyer, Rinku Singh, Andre Russell, Ramandeep Singh, Anukul Roy, Harshit Rana, Anrich Nortje & Varun Chakravarthy

Best Impact Player: Vaibhav Arora

Kolkata Knight Riders will mostly be continuing with the same core that played for them in IPL 2024, except for their Captain who has moved to Punjab Kings. The team has almost 8 players who were a part of tthe rophy-winning squad in 2024. Among the players who are absent, KKR have Quinton de Kock in place of Phil Salt, Ajinkya Rahane in place of Shreyas Iyer, and Anrich Nortje in place of Mitchell Starc.

IPL 2025 Best Possible Playing 11 for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)

Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh, Nicholas Pooran, Rishabh Pant (c&wk), David Miller, Ayush Badoni, Abdul Samad, Shahbaz Ahmed, Ravi Bishnoi, Mohsin Khan & Mayank Yadav

Best Impact Player: Avesh Khan

The Lucknow Super Giants team will have Rishabh Pant as their leader for IPL 2025. The team is overseas batting heavy with as many as 4 quality Overseas batters in the side. However, the LSG team looks Indian bowlers heavy with almost the entire bowling lineup being Indian. While the Overall LSG side looks well-balanced, all will depend on how their Indian bowlers perform.

IPL 2025 Best Possible Playing 11 for Mumbai Indians (MI)

Will Jacks, Rohit Sharma, Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya (c), Robin Minz (wk), Naman Dhir, Mitchell Santner, Deepak Chahar, Allah Ghazanfar & Jasprit Bumrah

Best Impact Player: Trent Boult

Mumbai Indians will start the tournament as one of the strongest teams on paper. The team looks near-perfect, except for one major issue, and that’s their lower-order. The top 5 in batting looks strong, and bowling is also fantastic. So, if MI can solve their inexperienced lower-order issue, they can go long way in the tournament.

IPL 2025 Best Possible Playing 11 for Punjab Kings (PBKS)

Marcus Stoinis, Prabsimran Singh (wk), Shreyas Iyer (c), Glenn Maxwell, Shashank Singh, Nehal Wadhera, Marco Jansen, Harpreet Brar, Lockie Ferguson, Arshdeep Singh & Yuzvendra Chahal

Best Impact Player: Kuldeep Sen

Talking about Punjab Kings, they will once again have a new leader in the form of Shreyas Iyer. PBKS is one team that has a lot of inexperience in their side. In their first-choice playing 11, they have as many as 4 inexperienced players, and those are Prabsimran Singh, Shashank Singh, Nehal Wadhera, and Harpreet Brar. If these four come out well, PBSK may replicate their 2014 performance.

IPL 2025 Best Possible Playing 11 for Rajasthan Royals (RR)

Sanju Samson (c&wk), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Nitish Rana, Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel, Shimron Hetmyer, Shubham Dubey, Wanindu Hasaranga, Jofra Archer, Tushar Deshpande & Maheesh Theekshana

Best Impact Player: Sandeep Sharma

Rajasthan Royals have strong Indian batting and strong Overseas bowling. Among Indian batters, the focus will be on Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Nitish Rana, Riyan Parag, and Dhruv Jurel. Whereas among Overseas bowlers, the focus will be on Jofra Archer, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Maheesh Theekshana. The lineup looks strong for RR, but they will face a minor slack in terms of batting or bowling depth.

IPL 2025 Best Possible Playing 11 Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)

Phil Salt, Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Liam Livingstone, Tim David, Krunal Pandya, Rasikh Dar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood & Yash Dayal

Best Impact Player: Suyash Sharma

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru seems to have finally done a good job of building a good squad. The team has a strong batting and bowling lineup, albeit a bit of inexperience in the side. The team is going ahead with a horses-for-courses approach with a focus more on pacers than spinners. While RCB may not find any issue at Chinnaswamy, the team may face issues on spin-friendly wickets of Chennai, Kolkata, etc.

IPL 2025 Best Possible Playing 11 for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)

Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan (wk), Nitish Reddy, Heinrich Klaasen, Kamindu Mendis, Abhinav Manohar, Pat Cummins (c), Harshal Patel, Rahul Chahar & Mohammed Shami

Best Impact Player: Simarjeet Singh

Finally, talking about Sunrisers Hyderabad, they have the most belligerent batting lineup in the competition. Right from Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma at the top to Ishan Kishan and Nitish Reddy in the middle-order to Heinrich Klaasen and Abhinav Manohar as finishers, the side has a strong batting unit. Complementing the batting is an experienced bowling lineup comprising of Cummins, Harshal, Shami, and Chahar.

So, that’s about the best playing 11 for all 10 teams for IPL 2025.
