IPL 2025 Dream Best Team of the Tournament Revealed

Shreyas Iyer to Captain the dream best team of the tournament for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

It’s that time of the tournament when we look at the Best team of the tournament involving the best batters and bowlers to have performed in the tournament. As we have always seen, the performance of the players has been exemplary this year too with as many as six 600+ runs being scored by players, and similarly, 4 players have taken 20 or more wickets in the tournament. Sai Sudharsan is currently the Orange Cap holder with 759 runs to his name, and Prasidh Krishna is the Purple Cap holder with 25 wickets to his name.

With so many superstar performances from the players, it is very difficult to come up with the best playing 11 of the tournament. Most of the players who have performed exceptionally are top-order players, but while finalizing the best 11, we will have to select players across different categories, i.e. Openers, Middle-order, and Finishers. Hence, there could be a few players who might miss due to supply being more than demand constraint.

Meanwhile, the IPL 2025 will witness a new winner this year with Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru locked in the final. Both teams haven’t won the trophy yet in the Indian Premier League with 17 years of dry period. But one of them will get their wish fulfilled. It will be interesting to see if Ee Salla Cup Namde finally breathes a sigh of relief, or if Sadda Punjab under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer come out as the winner.

IPL 2025 Dream Best Team of the Tournament Revealed

Selecting the openers was the most difficult part of finalizing the Dream Team of the tournament for IPL 2025. There were as many as 9 openers who did well as an opener. Among the big names, we have Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill from Gujarat Titans, Yashasvi Jaiswal from RR, Priyansh Arya and Prabsimran Singh from Punjab Kings, Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh from LSG, Virat Kohli and Phil Salt from RCB, etc.

With so many talented and performing openers, choosing two from this list was always going to be difficult. But if we had to select the two best openers from this list, it would be the Orange Cap holder Sai Sudharsan alongside aggressive Mitchell Marsh. Both players were not only consistent but played with intent throughout the tournament. Overall, Sai scored 759 runs from 15 innings at an average of 54, and a strong strike rate of 156. Similarly, Mitchell Marsh also scored over 600 runs with an average of 48, and a strike rate of 164.

Coming to the middle-order, we have the trio of Suryakumar Yadav, Nicholas Pooran, and Shreyas Iyer. There were fewer options in this space, so choosing the best three wasn’t a difficult choice. All three players scored in excess of 500 runs with SKY scoring over 700 runs while batting at 4 on most occasions. Overall, SKY scored 717 runs at an average of 65 and a Strike rate of 168. Pooran too scored 524 runs at a solid strike rate of 197. Whereas Shreyas Iyer managed 603 runs at a solid strike rate of 176.

Finishers and Bowling Lineup

Now, talking about the finishers, this is where we can see a surprise package. Since we have two solid Overseas bowlers in place, we have to go with Indian All-rounders. Among the best options who have scored a good number of runs at a good strike rate, we have Nehal Wadhera from PBKS and Hardik Pandya, the All-rounder from MI. While Wadhera has scored around 400 runs barring at 5 or 6 at a good strike rate of 150, Hardik has scored over 300 runs in addition to taking 14 wickets. Both have done a really good job in their position, and thus are a part of this Dream Team.

Now, coming to the bowling lineup, we have a combination of 3 pacers and 2 spinners including an impact player. In terms of the Pacers, we have the trio of Josh Hazlewood from RCB, Prasidh Krishna from GT, and Jasprit Bumrah from MI. Whereas for Spinners, we have Noor Ahmad from CSK and R Sai Kishore from GT. It’s a fantastic bowling lineup, and there should not even be a debate on who the best give bowlers were in this IPL.

Overall, Prasidh leads the pack with 25 wickets to his name. He has done brilliantly in the middle overs and death overs. Josh Hazlewood and Jasprit Bumrah aren’t far behind with 21 and 18 wickets to their name. Both these pacers have bowled in all stages of the match, and thus deserve the highest recognition. In terms of spinners, Noor and Sai have done a brilliant job with 24 and 19 wickets respectively. Both were quite good in the middle overs while containing the flow of runs, and also taking a good number of wickets.
