One of the most important players in any IPL squad, the wicket-keepers were, and will always be, a crucial member in the Indian Premier League. Every team keeps 1-2 good wicket-keepers in the side, with mostly a couple of more good backups. This is the reason, among 10 teams, we will be seeing a total of 33 wicket-keepers playing in the 19^th edition of the Indian Premier League, IPL 2026.

4. Urvil Patel

The Chennai Super Kings team has 4 wicket-keepers in their side in the form of MS Dhoni, Sanju Samson, Urvil Patel, and Kartik Sharma. While MS Dhoni and Urvil Patel were retained by the CSK team, Sanju Samson was traded from the Rajasthan Royals, and Kartik Sharma was added in the Auction. Overall, expect CSK to play MS Dhoni, Sanju Samson, and Kartik Sharma in their strongest playing 11, with MS Dhoni donning the wicket-keeping duties.

The Delhi Capitals team has 4 wicket-keepers in their side in the form of KL Rahul, Tristan Stubbs, Ben Duckett, and Abhishek Porel. From the four, KL Rahul, Abhishek Porel, and Tristan Stubbs were retained by team, and Ben Duckett was added to the squad In the Auction. While Jos Buttler, Anuj Rawat, and Kumar Khushagra were retained by the GT team, Tom Banton was added in the side in the Auction. The Lucknow Super Giants team has 4 wicket-keepers in their side in the form of Josh Inglis, Mukul Choudhary, Nicholas Pooran, and Rishabh Pant. While Pant and Pooran were retained by the LSG team, Mukul Choudhary and Josh Inglis were added in the Mini Auction. Also, of the four, expect LSG to play Pant, Pooran, and maybe Inglis too in the strongest playing 11. Also, Pant remains the only wicket-keeper Captain in the Indian Premier League. He also happens to be the costliest player in the IPL.

The Mumbai Indians team has just 3 wicket-keepers in their side in the form of Quinton de Kock, Robin Minz, and Ryan Rickelton. While Rickelton and Minz were retained by the MI team, Quinton de Kock was added in the Auction. Overall, Quinton de Kock might pip Ryn Rickelton as the first-choice wicket-keeper opener in the side. Whereas Robin Minz shall continue to remain as the key backup wicket-keeper in the side.

1. Prabsimran Singh
2. Vishnu Vinod

The Punjab Kings team has the least number of wicket-keepers in the side, and those are Prabsimran Singh and Vishnu Vinod. Both are retained wicket-keepers, but only Prabsimran Singh might play all the games for the team, and Vishnu Vinod might play the role of a backup keeper in the side.

2. Donovan Ferreira (FO)
3. Lhuan de Pretorius (FO)
4. Ravi Singh

The Rajasthan Royals team has 4 wicket-keepers in their side in the form of Dhruv Jurel, Donovan Ferreira, Ravi Singh, and Lhuan de Pretorius. While Dhruv and Lhuan were already retained by the RR team, Donovan and Ravi were added in the side as a trade deal and Auction, respectively. Overall, there could be a scenario where both Dhruv Jurel and Donovan Ferreira make it to the strongest playing 11, if not, then Dhruv Jurel is only likely to be included.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad team has 3 wicket-keepers in their side in the form of Heinrich Klaasen, Ishan Kishan, and Salil Arora. While the young Salil Arora was added in the Mini Auction, Klaasen and Kishan were retained by the SRH team. Just like the RCB team, expect SRH to play both Kishan and Klaasen in the strongest playing 11. Also, Klaasen should donn the wicket-keeping duties.
