IPL 2025 Best Possible Retained Batsman List for All 10 Teams
MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli, the top priorities in our best possible retained batsman list for all 10 teams for IPL 2025.
If there is one category of players that may demand higher retention price, especially Indian players, it is the batters. Most of the teams in the tournament are led by batters, and those are supposedly going to be retained in the highest price bracket. So be it Ruturaj Gaikwad for CSK, Rishabh Pant for DC, or Suryakumar Yadav for MI, these players will be top priority picks for their teams among batters.
With batters in demand in this format, almost every team will have one batter getting retained for sure with a few teams retaining 3-4 batters as well. Also, unlike the other categories, this is one category where you will find at least one player from each team. So, let’s analyze the current squad and situation, and find out the best possible retained batsman list for all 10 Teams for IPL 2025.
IPL 2025 Best Predicted Retained Batsman List for All 10 Teams
#1: Chennai Super Kings
- Ruturaj Gaikwad – 18 Cr
- MS Dhoni – 4 Cr
Starting with Chennai Super Kings, the team will retain two batters, and those are Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and wicket-keeper MS Dhoni. While Ruturaj Gaikwad may get the highest grade at 18 Cr, Dhoni will be retained as an uncapped player for 4 Cr.
#2: Delhi Capitals
- Rishabh Pant – 18 Cr
- Abhishek Porel – 4 Cr
For Delhi Capitals, the team will retain two wicket-keeper batters, and those are Captain Rishabh Pant and youngster Abhishek Porel. Price point of view, Rishabh Pant should get 18 Cr. Whereas Abhishek Porel should get retained as an uncapped player for 4 Cr.
#3: Gujarat Titans
- Shubman Gil – 18 Cr
For Gujarat Titans, the team will retain only one batter, and that is their Captain, Shubman Gill. Needless to say, Shubman Gill will be retained at the highest price bracket of 18 Cr.
#4: Kolkata Knight Riders
- Shreyas Iyer – 14 Cr (Blocked 18 Cr)
- Rinku Singh – 11 Cr
Kolkata Knight Riders would ideally want to retain Shreyas Iyer and Rinku Singh among batters, but there’s news being circulated about the potential departure of Shreyas Iyer away from KKR. It seems as if KKR and Iyer aren’t coming to common terms in terms of retention. But hopefully, KKR is able to convince, and in that scenario, Iyer should get 14 Cr and Rinku should get 11 Cr.
#5: Lucknow Super Giants
- Nicholas Pooran – 18 Cr
- Ayush Badoni – 4 Cr
The biggest challenge for Lucknow Super Giants will be dealing with KL Rahul. There’s some big news regarding how KL Rahul doesn’t fit into LSG’s think-tank anymore. The team needs players who can express themselves, and it feels LSG aren’t too happy with KL Rahul’s slow and adaptive approach. This isn’t completely wrong, and thus KL Rahul departing from LSG isn’t a big deal. Without KL Rahul, LSG should retain Nicholas Poora for 18 Cr, and Ayush Badoni for 3 Cr among batters.
#6: Mumbai Indians
- Rohit Sharma – 14 Cr
- Suryakumar Yadav – 14 Cr
- Ishan Kishan – 11 Cr
- Nehal Wadhera – 4 Cr
Mumbai Indians will find it challenging when it comes to retaining Rohit Sharma, but somehow they should be able to convince Rohit to stay with them. Overall, expect Mumbai Indians to retain four batters with Rohit Sharm and Suryakumar Yadav getting 14 Cr, Ishan Kishan getting 11 Cr, and Nehal Wadhera getting 4 Cr.
#7: Punjab Kings
- Shashank Singh – 4 Cr
- Prabsimran Singh – 4 Cr
For Punjab Kings, the team will go after two uncapped batters, Shashank Singh and Prabsimran Singh. Both these players will be retained under uncapped players category for 4 Cr.
#8: Rajasthan Royals
- Sanju Samson – 18 Cr
- Jos Buttler – 14 Cr
- Yashasvi Jaiswal 11 Cr
Rajasthan Royals will retain a total of 3 batters including 2 wicket-keepers in the form of Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler, and Yashasvi Jaiswal. While Sanju Samson should get 18 Cr, Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal, should mostly get 14 Cr each.
#9: Royal Challengers Bengaluru
- Virat Kohli – 18 Cr
Talking about RCB, the team will see retaining only Virat Kohli among the batters. They do have Faf du Plessis, Will Jacks, and Rajat Patidar among other batters, but RCB will mostly use RTM cards in them.
#10: Sunrisers Hyderabad
- Heinrich Klaasen – 18 Cr
- Travis Head 14 Cr
The Sunrisers Hyderabad team will mostly retain one of the best T20 batters, Travis Head, and one of the best finishers in T20 cricket, Heinrich Klaasen. These two are the summit when it comes to opening as well as finishing. Thus, expect SRH to retain Klaasen for 18 Cr, and Travis Head for 14 Cr.
