IPL 2025 Best Predicted New Schedule Post India vs Pakistan War
The final to be played on June 1 in our best predicted schedule fixtures for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 post India vs Pakistan war.
The inevitable has happened! Yes, the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League, IPL 2025 has been postponed by a week amidst the escalatory tensions between India and Pakistan. India carried out many surgical strikers on different terror camps in Pakistan post the Pahalgam terrorist attack. In response, Pakistan targeted many civilian sights in Jammu & Kashmir, Jaisalmer, and Gujarat, and that has led to a war-like situation between both countries.
Amidst the security concerns, the ongoing PBKS vs DC match on May 08th was abandoned, and BCCI keeping the security of players and fans in mind, postponed the IPL 2025 by a week. The IPL 2025 had already completed 58 Group stage matches, and with only 12 Group Stage matches, and 4 Playoffs matches pending, postponing the IPL by a week can change a few things drastically in terms of Overseas players’ availability.
If we observe the International tour programs, the first full-member series where IPL players will be involved is India’s Tour of England starting June 20. With sufficient time available even after the initially scheduled May 25 final, postponing the IPL by a week may actually not be a bad idea. BCCI has a week’s window until June 01st, and can actually plan the final on June 1st, and reschedule the matches accordingly.
IPL 2025 Best Predicted New Schedule Post India vs Pakistan War
If the Indian Premier League actually starts a week later as advised by BCCI, then the first match post restart shall be LSG vs RCB in Lucknow. BCCI may not make many changes in the schedule, and will instead postpone all matches by a week. This is a realistic scenario, and this way, we will have only 1 double-header, and the final shall take place on June 1st. Having said that, all the Overseas players should also be ideally available for all matches even after rescheduling.
Now, in terms of venues, there can be a few changes keeping security in mind. The BCCI will mostly try and avoid the border areas, and any matches scheduled in Himachal Pradesh and Punjab will be avoided. Luckily, we have only 1 match in this region, and that’s PBKS vs MI in Dharamsala. The good news is, this match has already been rescheduled to Ahmedabad, and that means, there should ideally be no more changes to the venues.
What happens to the PBKS vs DC match?
Now, coming to another important question about abandoned PBKS vs DC match. Punjab Kings were going strong against Delhi Capitals in that match having scored 122 runs after 10 overs. Just after Priyansh’s wicket, there was a blackout in Dharamsala, and the match was abandoned. While the match was called off, the official website shows no points being shared as yet. This means the call is yet to be taken on whether the points will be shared, or the match is rescheduled.
If the match is rescheduled, there are only two dates where the match can take place. Either the match is rescheduled to Friday, afternoon on May 16, or Tuesday, May 20 in the afternoon. On both occasions, PBKS and DC will not get matches on back-to-back days, and hence, the scenario won’t be bad. Also, if at all the match is rescheduled, it should continue as is from the point it was discontinued. We will have to see what decision BCCI takes on this front.
IPL 2025 Current Status
In terms of the current situation of IPL 2025, Gujarat Titans and Royal Challengers Bengaluru are comfortably sitting at the 1st and 2nd positions with 16 points each. Punjab Kings, Mumbai Indians, and Delhi Capitals follow them with 15, 14, and 13 points respectively. While KKR and LSG are still in the Playoffs race with 11 and 10 points respectively, SRH, RR, and CSK are already eliminated from the Playoffs race.
Talking about the key performers of IPL 2025, Suryakumar Yadav is the current Orange Cap holder with 510 runs to his name. He is followed by Sai Sudharsan with 509 runs and Shubman Gill with 508 runs. In terms of wickets, Prasidh Krishna and Noor Ahmad are currently at the top of the table with 20 wickets each. They are closely followed by Josh Hazlewood and Trent Boult with 18 wickets each.
So, that’s about the best predicted schedule fixtures for the pending matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
