IPL 2025 Full Exclusive Salary List for Players of All 10 Teams
Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer, the most expensive in our salary list of players of all 10 teams for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
Ever since the IPL 2025 has started, one thing that has been a centre of attraction in this tournament with regard to financials, is the monetary fine. Be it the fine due to a code of conduct breach by a player, or the fine for maintaining a slow over rate for the Captain, IPL has two types of fines that are applicable during the tournament. But these fines don’t get deducted from the contract price a player receives
For example, Digvesh Rathi has a contract price of 0.3 Cr for IPL 2025. But he has been fined twice, with 25% and 50% getting deducted from his match fees. Yes, match fees is over and above the contract price each player receives. As per IPL 2025 standard norms, a player gets INR 7.5L as the match fees in addition to his average match compensation. So, when 25% and 50% is getting deducted as a fine for Digvesh, it is actually 1.875L and 3.75L that is getting deducted for him.
The match fee is a new concept introduced by the BCCI this year, and the move, as we have seen in the case of Digvesh, is set to benefit low-salary players. Someone who is earning just 0.3 Cr through a contract is going to earn over 1 Cr if he appears in all 14 matches. Aside from match fees, franchises will continue to pay their players a contract price. A contract price is usually spread throughout the tournament, and if a player is fit to play, he is given the salary, irrespective of whether he plays or not.
Player Insurance
Another important thing to note is the player insurance if a player is ill or ruled out for unforeseen circumstances. Yes, each team covers at least their most expensive players under insurance so that if an unfortunate injury occurs to any player, instead of playing them from the pockets, the franchise will take the insurance route. For example, for Ruturaj Gaikwad, who was recently ruled out of IPL 2025 due to a shoulder injury, CSK won’t pay from their pockets for the matches he was injured. They will instead use the insurance route, as he was officially ruled out of the competition.
It is also interesting to note that player insurance premiums have also risen by 20-25% this year; given the preceding year, Insurance companies suffered losses. So, having understood the science and math behind how salary works in the Indian Premier League, let’s look at the complete salary list of players of all 10 teams for IPL 2025. We will also take a look at the injuries, rule-outs, and replacement player salaries for the current season.
