Indian Premier League (IPL)

IPL 2025 Ranking All 10 Teams Basis their Best Batters

Sunrisers Hyderabad quartet, the strongest in our best batters ranking for all 10 teams for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

Mining a solid batting lineup in the Indian Premier League is one of the most important steps for any team management, and having 7 strong batters in the lineup is a dream for any team in the IPL. While not every team has the blessing of playing 7 quality batters in the lineup, having 4-5 quality batters in the side is not impossible given the talent in the country, and across the globe.

The T20 format is such that it is usually only 3-4 batters who will do the bulk of the scoring for their team. This is because a match has 120 balls, and even if 1-2 batters click in every match, they will play at least 60-70% of the balls for their team. Hence, investing in 3-4 quality batters in a lineup is something every team does, and is able to achieve. While the top-order is the one that does the bulk of the scoring, some teams may have a few lower-order players for being the most important batters for their team.

So, how about we take a look at four batters in each team that are most important for their team, and are also a part of the best batters in their side. It’s important to note that the four best batters can be from any category – Opener, Middle-order, or Finisher. It’s the role given to a player, and if that player fulfils that role perfectly, he automatically becomes an important batter for his team. So, let’s analyse the squad of each team, and look at the ranking of the best batters of all 10 teams for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

IPL 2025 Best Batters Ranking for All 10 Teams

#10: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Best Batters for IPL 2025

Rachin Ravindra, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja & MS Dhoni (wk)

At number 10, we have the CSK team, and their current performance in IPL 2025 is the main reason why they find themselves in this position. CSK’s old-school batting hasn’t quite clicked this season, where the demand has been to play aggressive cricket. None of the batters have been a standout, and the fact that MS Dhoni, who generally bats at 7 or 8 is their best batter so far tells their struggling story. While there is quality in the likes of Rachin, Dube, Jadeja, etc., they haven’t been able to perform as per expectations. The team will also be missing their best batter, Ruturaj Gaikwad, who is out of IPL 2025 due to elbow injury.

#9: Punjab Kings (PBKS) Best Batters for IPL 2025

Prabhsimran Singh (wk), Priyansh Arya, Shreyas Iyer (c) & Shashank Singh

At number 9, we have the Punjab Kings team with Prabhsimran Singh, Priyansh Arya, Shreyas Iyer, and Shashank Singh being their best batters. All four PBKS batters are in good form, but is is the lack of experience with three being uncapped players a minor issue. All four batters can take the game head-on, but in pressure situations, this batting lineup can go for a toss, and hence, they find themselves in the number 9 position.

#8: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) Best Batters for IPL 2025

Quinton de Kock (wk), Sunil Narine, Ajinkya Rahane & Venkatesh Iyer

For number 8, we have the KKR team with Quinton de Kock, Sunil Narine, Ajinkya Rahane, and Venkatesh Iyer being their best batters. KKR have a rather surprising batting-order where the likes of Rinku Singh, Andre Russell, and Ramandeep Singh are batting in the lower-order, where in fact, they should be facing as many balls as possible. Nevertheless, de Kock, Narine, Rahane, and Venkatesh are the team’s best batters currently, but none of these batters is extraordinary. They are good for quick-firing knocks, and that’s what their role is in the team.

#7: Delhi Capitals (DC) Best Batters for IPL 2025

KL Rahul, Faf du Plessis, Tristan Stubbs & Axar Patel

At number 7, we have the Delhi Capitals team with KL Rahul, Faf du Plessis, Tristan Stubbs, and Axar Patel being their best batters. This is a good set of batters for any team, and while KL and Faf can play the anchor perfectly, Stubbs and Axar can play aggressive cricket as they usually do. But considering the competition, Delhi’s best four batters find themselves at the number 7 position – although they are much better than what their ranking depicts.

#6: Rajasthan Royals (RR) Best Batters for IPL 2025

Sanju Samson (c&wk), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Nitish Rana & Riyan Parag

For number 6, we have the Rajasthan Royals team, and they have good all-Indian batters in their top 4. Be it Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Nitish Rana, or Riyan Parag, all four batters are quality batters, and are also in good form currently. However, RR seems to have gotten the batting-order completely wrong for these four. Riyan has done so well batting at number 4 last year, but has been time and again promoted to number 3 to play early in this innings. Similarly, Nitish plays down the order, which isn’t a good move either. The RR team will have to stick to playing Nitish at 3, and Riyan at 4 to get better output from the team.

#5: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) Best Batters for IPL 2025

Phil Salt, Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar & Devdutt Padikkal

Number 5 belongs to the RCB team, and they have a solid quartet of Phil Salt, Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, and Devdutt Padikkal. Barring Padikkal, who is still not playing to his full potential, the other three batters have been excellent, and are in great form. While Salt and Riyan mostly play as the aggressor, Kohli has always looked to play the situation, and has done well so far. It’s a good set of batters, but the output from Padikkal has to be more than what we are seeing currently.

#4: Mumbai Indians (MI) Best Batters for IPL 2025

Ryan Rickelton, Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav & Hardik Pandya

Number 4 belongs to the MI batters, and have the quartet of Ryan Rickelton, Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav, and Hardik Pandya. Rohit Sharma would be a welcome addition to this list, but unfortunately, Rohit is going through a traumatic form with not a single 30+ score so far this season. Nevertheless, Ryan, Tilak, Surya, and Hardik are solid batters themselves, and if not the best, they are among the best in this IPL.

#3: Gujarat Titans (GT) Best Batters for IPL 2025

Shubman Gill (c), Jos Buttler (wk), Sai Sudharsan & Sherfane Rutherford

At number 3, we have the Gujarat Titans team, with their best batters being Shubman Gill, Jos Buttler, Sai Sudharsan, and Sherfane Rutherford. There is no doubt about the quality of GT’s top-order, which is Gill, Sudharsan, and Buttler. All three are consistent batters, and are also in great form currently. However, Sherfane in this lineup isn’t a match to their top 3, and hence, if 2 of their top 3 batter fail, we can’t say for sure that Sherfane will get the team out of misery.

#2: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) Best Batters for IPL 2025

Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh, Nicholas Pooran & Rishabh Pant (c&wk)

Number 2 belongs to the LSG team, and they have four outstanding batters in the form of Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh, Nicholas Pooran, and Rishabh Pant. All four batters come with an abundance of experience, and barring Pant to some extent, the other three batters are also in great form currently. While being consistent in scoring runs is one thing, being aggressive at the same time is what differentiates the LSG batters.

#1: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) Best Batters for IPL 2025

Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan (wk) & Heinrich Klaasen

For number 1, we have the quartet of Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Heinrich Klaasen, and there should absolutely be no doubt that they are the best set of batters for any team in this IPL. These four are the most explosive batters in this IPL, and on their given day, can take down any bowling attack in the competition. However, the SRH batters come with a caveat, and that’s ‘having a bad day’. All said and done about this batting lineup, if they have a bad day, which can happen to anyone, they have a really bad day, and that can be catastrophic for the SRH team.

So, that’s about the best batters ranking for all 10 teams for IPL 2025.
