It’s been only a week since the IPL 2025 kick-started, but we already know how the season will unfold. Barring a few instances, almost every match has been a high-scoring contest with a few matches seeing more than 500 runs being scored. The game has taken a parabolic shift in terms of how batters are approaching the game. Almost all batters are playing with more intent and freedom, and that means a nightmare of bowlers continues. 

With such intent and approach, even the teams are preparing pitches that are suitable for high-scoring contests. This means matches will be competitive, and the ones with a good bowling lineup will have a better chance of qualifying for the playoffs. But which four teams have the best chance of qualifying for the IPL 2025 Playoffs? Well, this is the most difficult thing one can predict, and matches are not played on paper, and the team that does well on that particular day comes out as winner.

But from what we have seen so far in the tournament in terms of how teams are approaching their game, what playing 11 they are playing, and how capable their team is, let’s analyze the entire Indian Premier League 2025 schedule of all 10 teams, and find out the best predicted standings of all 10 teams, and their Playoffs qualification chance for the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League, IPL 2025. 

IPL 2025 Playoffs Qualification Ranking for All 10 Teams

#10: Rajasthan Royals (RR)

Predicted Points: 6

At number 10 in the points table, we should see the Rajasthan Royals team with 3 wins from 14 matches. The team is in a dire state, and their batters, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Riyan Parag, Nitish Rana, and Hetmyer, are having a horror time with the bat so far. Their Captain Sanju Samson is injured, and Captaincy has been taken care of by Riyan Parag. Having lost their first two matches, their campaign looks in disarray. They can win against PBKS, RCB, and GT, but against other teams, it looks like an uphill task for them. 

#9: Gujarat Titans (GT)

Predicted Points: 10 

For number 9 in the points table, we should see the Gujarat Titans team, and they might end up with 10 points this season. The team lacks the punch this time, and having lost their first match, they can still manage to win once against the likes of CSK, DC, LSG, MI, and RR. However, 5 wins will not be enough for them even though they might save their humiliation. Also, expect GT to lose both their matches against SRH. 

#8: Delhi Capitals (DC)

Predicted Points: 10

The number 8 finish should belong to the Delhi Capitals team, and they should end up with 10 points. DC’s toughest matches will be against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians, and given that both home and away matches are the flattest deck on offer, expect SRH and MI to come out on top in both matches. Meanwhile, expect Delhi to win a match against the likes of GT, KKR, LSG, RR, and RCB. 

#7: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)

Predicted Points: 12

Number 7 finish should belong to the RCB team, and they might end up with 12 points. RCB have assembled a good team this time, and has the potential to finish in the top 4. 12 points isn’t a bad number to contain with, but there could be moments (especially spin-friendly decks) where RCB might lose critical points. RCB might not see one-way results against other teams, and should give a tough fight to almost all teams. 

#6: Punjab Kings (PBKS)

Predicted Points: 14 

The number 6 finish should belong to the revamped Punjab Kings side, who might end up with 14 points. PBKS have a solid team this time with an exceptional leader. However, given the competition, they might just fall short of the expectations. They might win 7 matches, which isn’t bad at all, but how well they do against the likes of SRH and MI will decide their fate. For now, MI and SRH start as favorites, but hopefully, we will see an upset there for PBKS to make good inroads.

#5: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)

Predicted Points: 16

At number 5, we should see the defending champions KKR with 16 points to their name. KKR will have a good season this time, but they might just fall of the distance in terms of their IPL 2025 Playoffs qualification chance. KKR have a good team – although their 2024 team and resource utilization was top-notch. Overall, KKR might win 8 matches this time, but LSG might just inch KKR with respect to NRR this time. 

#4: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)

Predicted Points: 16 

The LSG team is truly the underdog team this time, with almost all fans undermining the team’s capabilities. But IPL doesn’t work that way, and when you think the odds are in your favour, you are in for a shocker. The SRH vs LSG match is the best example. Almost no one would have thought that LSG would defeat SRH with a below-average bowling lineup. But that’s how IPL surprises everyone, and expect the underdogs Lucknow Super Giants to surprise everyone by qualifying for the IPL 2025 Playoffs.

#3: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)

Predicted Points: 18

At number 3, we should see the SRH team, and they undoubtedly have the most belligerent batting lineup this season. There are plenty of flat decks on offer for SRH this season, and barring an odd match like that of LSG, expect SRH to do well at home, and pitches like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata. Overall, 9 wins is what SRH will win this season, and their biggest challenge will be how they adapt on pitches like Chennai, Lucknow, and Jaipur. 

#2: Chennai Super Kings (CSK)

Predicted Points: 18

Number 2 finish should belong to the CSK team, whom almost all experts didn’t have in their top 4 teams for Playoffs. It surprises me to see how experts neglect a team that has an 80% success ratio in terms of Playoffs. CSK are kings when it comes to home matches, and they have a strong team this time to not a single match go at home. Expect CSK to win 6 home matches, and 3 away matches to take their tally to 18 points. They might just pip SRH in terms of NRR to enter the top 2 spot.

#1: Mumbai Indians (MI)

Predicted Points: 20 

At numero uno, we should see the Mumbai Indians team, and even though they are without Bumrah, the team has all the capabilities to finish as the table toppers. Right from their batting to bowling, MI have all their bases covered. Expect MI to win 10 matches this time, and the only tough matches they could face will be against CSK and SRH.
