The IPL 2026 Mini Auction is just around the corner, and all teams are already in the planning and discussion stage on the players they would like to target in the Auction. While teams usually fill 60-70% of the players with capped players, the rest 30-40% of the players are made up of uncapped players, and this is already a significant number for any team to have in the tournament.

Given that such a big percentage of the player group makes up uncapped players, teams are also always in the hunt for quality uncapped players in the side. A team in general will have 2-3 uncapped players as a part of playing 11, with the exception of the Punjab Kings, who generally have 6-7 uncapped players in the playing 11. This signifies the importance of uncapped players, and why teams are always in the lookout for quality fresh names in the Auction.

The IPL 2026 has seen all 10 Teams retaining as many as 76 uncapped players. Even if teams don’t add any more uncapped players in the Auction, they would still make up for 30% of the team’s strength. But which teams have retained which of these players? IPL 2026 Complete Retained Uncapped Players List for Chennai Super Kings (CSK)

The Chennai Super Kings retained 7 uncapped players for IPL 2026, and among those, we have the oldest and most famous uncapped player – MS Dhoni. Yes, Dhoni will continue to remain as the uncapped player, with the new BCCI rule coming in. Aside from Dhoni, Ayush Mhatre, Urvil Patel, and Gurjapneet Singh may have a good role to play in IPL 2026.

IPL 2026 Final Retained Uncapped Players for Delhi Capitals (DC)

The Delhi Capitals retained 7 uncapped players for IPL 2026. Among those 7, Ashutosh Sharma, Abhishek Porel, Sameer Rizvi, and Vipraj Nigam played a good role in IPL 2025. Overall, expect these four to continue to play an important role in IPL 2026 and onwards.

IPL 2026 Full Retained Uncapped Players for Gujarat Titans (GT)

The Gujarat Titans retained 9 uncapped for IPL 2026, and that’s an ideal number to have from a maximum squad of 25. Among the 9 uncapped players, Shahrukh Khan, Rahul Tewatia, and Arshad Khan played a good role for GT in IPL 2025. Barring these three, all eyes will be on Anuj Rawat, Nishant Sindhu, Gurnoor Brar, and Manav Suthar, as these players have good potential to feature in the playing 11.

IPL 2026 Final Retained Uncapped Players List for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)

The Kolkata Knight Riders retained the least number of uncapped players for IPL 2026, with just 3 names in the side so far. However, all three, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Anukul Roy, and Vaibhav Arora, were regular playing 11 members in IPL 2025, and they also have the potential to continue doing it. While KKR currently have just 3 names, expect KKR to add 5-6 more uncapped players to the side in the Auction.

The Lucknow Super Giants retained 10 uncapped players for IPL 2026 – second-most among all 10 teams. Among the 10 names, Abdul Samad, Ayush Badoni, Digvesh Rathi, Prince Yadav, and Mohsin Khan have been regular playing 11 members in IPL 2025. In addition to this, LSG traded in Arjun Tendulkar as another uncapped player in the side.

IPL 2026 Full Retained Uncapped Players List for Mumbai Indians (MI)

One of the most player-centric teams, the Mumbai Indians, retained just 5 uncapped players, and may as well just add a couple more to the side. However, barring Naman Dhir and Ashwani Kumar, the other 5 names didn’t have much role to play in IPL 2025.

If there is one team that should be known as the King of Uncapped players, it has to be the Punjab Kings. While some teams have just 3-4 uncapped players on their side, the Punjab Kings have 12 uncapped players on their side. What’s more surprising is that at least 7 names featured regularly in their playing 11 in IPL 2025. Of the 12 names, the likes of Priyansh Arya, Prabsimran Singh, Shashank Singh, Nehal Wadhera, and Harpreet Brar will once again have an important role in IPL 2026.  

IPL 2026 Official Retained Uncapped Players for Rajasthan Royals (RR)

Rajasthan Royals retained just 4 uncapped players, and those are Shubham Dubey, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Sandeep Sharma, and Yudhvir Charak. Given the lack of quality backups in the team, all these players played a good number of matches in IPL 2025. And who can forget Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who seems to be the best uncapped talent in the country currently.

IPL 2026 Full Retained Uncapped Players List for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)

• Swapnil Singh
• Abhinandan Singh
• Rasikh Dar
• Suyash Sharma
• Yash Dayal

Royal Challengers Bengaluru retained 5 uncapped players, and those are Swapnil Singh, Abhinandan Singh, Rasikh Dar, Suyash Sharma, and Yash Dayal. While RCB retained 5 uncapped players, so far, only Suyash Sharma and Yash Dayal have featured regularly in the playing 11 for them.

IPL 2026 Retained Uncapped Players for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)

Sunrisers Hyderabad retained just 4 uncapped players, and those are Aniket Verma, Smaran Ravichandran, Harsh Dubey, and Zeeshan Ansari. Of the four, Aniket Verma and Zeeshan Ansari were regular playing 11 members, and Harsh Dubey played for a few matches. While Smaran Ravichandran didn’t get any chance, he is a talent not to be missed.
