IPL 2025 Download Latest Updated Official Schedule Fixtures
June 3 set as the final date in our latest updated schedule fixtures for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
As a rejoicing moment for the cricket fans in India, and across the globe, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday, May 12 officially announced the resumption of IPL 2025. The remainder of IPL 2025 is set to resume on May 17 with 17 more matches including 13 Group stage matches set to be played for a period of 18 days. The tournament has been shifted by almost a week, and the final will now be played on June 3 instead of May 25.
Also, unlike the previous format of home and away matches, the remaining matches shall be played only in 6 venues with no home and away format. The venues chosen for the remaining matches are Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Jaipur, and Ahmedabad. Thankfully, the BCCI has made sure the top 6 teams get at least one match at home with PBKS being the only exception as no matches can be played in Dharamsala or Punjab.
As we know, the Indian Premier League was postponed amidst a war-like situation between India and Pakistan. After the Pahalgam attack by the terrorist organization, India suspended the Indus Water treaty, and the Army destroyed most of the terrorist outfits in Pakistan. Pakistan, in response, counter-attacked, and this led to a war-like situation in India. Amidst the tension, BCCI suspended IPL 2025 by a week. With both countries agreeing to a ceasefire, the situation has certainly improved from what it was last week, and thus BCCI decided to resume the IPL, albeit with a few conditions.
South Africa and Australian Players Expected to miss IPL
While the resumption of IPL is good news to fans and cricketers across the globe, it is not without a few issues. The most important issue is the unavailability of South African and Australian cricketers. As we know, both teams’ players will be playing the WTC final just a week after the scheduled IPL 2025 final. With such close dates, it doesn’t seem that players from both countries will return for the IPL. This will be a big loss for teams like LSG, Delhi Capitals, etc., with players like Mitchell Starc, Mitchell Marsh, Travis Head, etc., expected to miss.
It is also learnt that teams won’t force any Overseas player to make a comeback for the remainder of the IPL. While security is one of the most important factors all teams are considering, they also feel teams like Australia and South Africa may need rest for a week or two before the all-important WTC final. However, aside from the players from these two countries, we can expect other Overseas players to return.
Aside from these changes, the IPL 2025 Playoffs venues have not been decided as yet. The IPL 2025 Playoffs were originally planned to be played in Kolkata and Hyderabad. However, given the inclement weather conditions in Kolkata, there is a high possibility that those matches will be shifted to Ahmedabad. The BCCI will take a decision on the same towards the end of group stage matches.
So, that’s about the official schedule fixtures for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
